A London Fashion by Nicola Coleby

 Hello Fashion Babes!

Welcome back to my blog :)

I'll be talking about the book "A London Fashion" by Nicola Coleby in today's entry.

This is the first book to focus more on Westwood as a personality than on the extraordinary and sophisticated clothing that has earned her the respect of the overseas fashion community. It breaks the new world by introducing the ideas of the people of London who collect, dress, and make her clothes, and by exploring Westwood's ingenuity in sewing and cleverly crafting traditional fabrics and styles.

It's the perfect read if you are interested to see her fashion evolution. The book is $39.98 on amazon. I posted the link at the end of this blog if you're interested.

Thank you for reading!!!!
Have a lovely day and stay healthy <333

VIVIENNE'S FASHION EVOLUTION

WELCOME BACK TO MY BLOG!

Today We'll be talking about how Vivienne Westwood found her own aesthetic!

I'll be quoting an article called "Vivienne Westwood: punk, new romantic and beyond." The link will be posted down towards the end of my blog ;)

I found this article very interesting because it explained how Vivienne losing her 30+ year partner and collaborator Malcolm McLaren she found her own sense of style and aesthetic in her work. From her punky and risqué aesthetic in her early years to edgy and sophisticated style in her most recent work.

You can clearly see her change of taste and aesthetic in her launches; If you compare her SEX line from 1977 to her 2019 Spring Launch you can clearly see the change in aesthetic but it still has the edgy punk essence she has conveyed with her work.

Vivienne Westwood's work in an Anime?!

It's no secret how well-known Vivienne's fashion and jewelry line are around the world since it caught the eye of the famous fashion manga writer Ai Yazawa. Yazawa the creator of NANA was inspired by the 70's punk aesthetic while also paying tribute to Vivienne Westwood's iconic designs in jewelry, shoes, and clothes alike.

Some of the VVW elements seen in the animanga are the armor ring, vvw's ballerina shoe line, the orb necklace line, purses, earrings, clothes, and last but not least the iconic orb lighter.
